The Rocks Pirates were once terrifying in One Piece. They were one of the most feared crews. But the crew had problems. It was full of powerful people, but they were selfish. This caused them to often fight each other.

We don't know much about many of them, and their loyalty to Xebec differed. Some were with him for ambition, some out of fear, and others because they lost their Davy Back Fight. Here are all of the known Rocks Pirates ranked from least to most loyal to their captain.

Ranking of the Rocks Pirates from One Piece

14. Shiki the Golden Lion

Shiki the Golden Lion was a famous pirate in One Piece. He became a legend. But before that, he was part of the Rocks Pirates. He was known for his arrogance and fierce pride, always seeking his own path even while under Rocks D. Xebec’s command. Shiki often clashed with his crewmates, making it clear he was no one’s follower.

Shiki’s loyalty to Rocks D. Xebec was limited. He followed Rocks mainly because of the crew’s strength, not because of admiration or belief in his dream. After the group fell apart, Shiki didn’t seem to care much. He simply went his own way, proving that his loyalty ended the moment the crew did.

13. Gill Bastar

Gill Bastar, known to readers of One Piece through the old one-shot “Wanted!”, later joined the Rocks Pirates. He was a skilled gunslinger with four arms, confident and quick to draw against anyone who threatened him. Gill fought fiercely during the God Valley Incident, standing alongside the crew during their invasion.

Even with his strength and pride, Gill Bastar’s loyalty to Rocks D. Xebec was shallow. He fought for survival and thrill, not for any cause. Like many in the Rocks Pirates, he was drawn to chaos more than loyalty. Once the crew fell, nothing suggested Gill ever cared about Rocks’ vision or his fall.

12. Gloriosa

Gloriosa is also known as Elder Nyon in One Piece, who lives on Amazon Lily. She was once part of the Rocks Pirates. Before that, she was a Kuja empress. She even fell in love with Gol D. Roger. She joined the Rocks Pirates later in life, fighting beside them during their infamous battles, including the God Valley Incident.

Gloriosa’s time with the Rocks Pirates was marked by mixed feelings. She didn’t fully believe in Xebec’s dream, and her loyalty leaned more toward her friends, especially Shakuyaku. Her ties to Rocks seemed more out of circumstance than faith. When the crew collapsed, she moved on without hesitation, proving her devotion to Xebec was only surface-deep.

11. Streusen

In One Piece, Streusen was a sneaky chef. He later helped Big Mom build her empire. But way before that, he sailed with the Rocks Pirates. He was known for being clever. And for his sharp tongue. Streusen survived by thinking ahead. He watched as stronger members fought each other and rarely got caught up in the chaos.

Streusen's loyalty to Rocks D. Xebec was all about staying alive. He was power-hungry. He followed whoever was the strongest. Streusen saw potential in Linlin. So he teamed up with her. Big Mom was working with Rocks D. Xebec at the time. So Streusen stuck around, too. When the Rocks Pirates broke up, Streusen just left with Big Mom. His easy switch showed something important. He was never actually loyal to Xebec.

10. Ochoku

Ochoku (also known as Wang Zhi) was one of the most dangerous members of the Rocks Pirates in One Piece. He was a man of war and characterized by his greed. But he was also powerful. As a member of the crew, Ochoku also participated in their raids. Some included invading Foot Colony and sailing to God Valley.

While he fought hard alongside the Rocks Pirates, his loyalty to Xebec was uncertain. Ochoku admired strength but wasn’t known to follow orders blindly. After the fall of Rocks, he went on to rule Hachinosu until he was defeated by Blackbeard. His actions showed that his loyalty to Rocks ended with the captain’s downfall.

9. Kyo (Silver Axe)

Kyo is also known as Silver Axe in One Piece. He was both a mobster and a pirate. He was already infamous before joining the Rocks Pirates. He had a rivalry with Shiki before joining the crew, which continued in the crew. Kyo was violent. He was ambitious. He was always very quick to fight. He often fought his own allies.

His loyalty to Rocks D. Xebec was uncertain at best. Kyo followed Rocks for the opportunities the crew offered, not because of devotion. Like many in the Rocks Pirates, he often clashed with his crewmates and fought for personal gain. When the crew ended, Kyo simply continued his violent path without regret.

8. Marlon

Marlon is not popular in One Piece. His background is mysterious. But we know that he was part of the Rocks Pirates. This adds more mystery to the crew. He was one of a few known to be on friendly terms with the group. He met his end when he was murdered in the madness following Shakuyaku’s abduction. When he died, Shakuyaku mourned him.

Marlon's loyalty to Rocks seemed pretty real. He respected the crew. He stood with them when they needed him. But his real loyalty was to individual people. Not to the captain. Like a lot of the Rocks Pirates, he didn't totally believe in Rocks' big dreams.

7. Barbel

Barbel was in a few One Piece flashbacks. He was a member of the Rocks Pirates. He joined the crew after Rocks D. Xebec's crew took over Hachinosu and accompanied him on hazardous attacks. Barbel was clever and outspoken. He liked to remark on all the chaos of the crew. He taunted them for being divided. But he battled ferociously at God Valley.

Barbel was a realist. He wasn't a true loyalist. He wasn’t buying into Rocks’ vision of world domination. He respected his captain's strength, though. His loyalty had limits. He would fight. But he would never die for Xebec's cause.

6. Ganzui

Ganzui was a smuggler in One Piece. He joined the Rocks Pirates after losing a Davy Back Fight to Xebec. He had a loud personality. The crew was rowdy, so he fit right in. He was clever too, with deep knowledge of the Underworld that made him valuable to Rocks’ growing empire. Ganzui was like most of his crewmates. He was smitten by Shakky the moment he saw her. He later joined a rescue mission to save her from God Valley.

Ganzui stayed loyal to the Rocks Pirates for two reasons in One Piece. One was survival. The other was believing in Rocks' big dreams. He fought hard at God Valley. He even clashed with the Roger Pirates over treasure. What happened to him after that? Nobody really knows. But Gecko Moria brought him back later as a zombie warrior. That kept his legend going.

5. Captain John

Captain John was a pirate in One Piece who loved money more than anything. He'd do whatever it took to get rich. About 44 years ago, in the story, he joined the Rocks Pirates. He took part in all their crimes. John was famous and brave. But he was also super selfish. He cared more about getting rich than anything else.

Even though Captain John was greedy, he still believed in Rocks D. Xebec. At least a little bit. He fought in big battles like God Valley. He respected how powerful Rocks was. His loyalty wasn't perfect. But he still stuck with the Rocks Pirates until the very end.

4. Buckingham Stussy

Buckingham Stussy was one of the few women in the Rocks Pirates. In One Piece, she stood out because of her pride and fierce temper. Back in the day, Stussy sailed with Rocks. She was after world domination just like him. She looked elegant but fought ruthlessly. She wasn't scared to fight next to monsters like Kaido and Big Mom.

She fought during the God Valley Incident. She was also one of the people who protected Shakky. That showed loyalty. Which was weird for someone as shallow as her. In One Piece, Stussy wanted fame. She wanted people to recognize her. She didn't just blindly follow Xebec's orders. But she stayed with the crew anyway. And she became a legend right alongside them.

3. Big Mom

Big Mom was another female in the crew. Her power was massive even back then. Her appetite for power was unmatched. She only allied with Rocks D. Xebec because of her ambition. She spent time with the crew and began to sympathize with his dream of world domination. She felt empathy for Kaido. She cared about other crewmates, too.

Big Mom was loyal to Rocks. Her loyalty was strong. But it wasn't perfect. She respected him. She followed his lead. But she never put his vision above her own. Still, she stayed with the Rocks Pirates until the end.

2. Kaido

Kaido was a young apprentice of Rocks D. Xebec. He was already scary before joining the crew. He was raised with that violent crew, and he knows what real power is. He was a fearless individual as a young pirate who showed no fear even towards members of the Rocks Pirates.

Kaido was one of the more faithful members of Rocks. He opposed the will of Xebec more than once, but still, he accepted him as the very symbol of irresistible force. He followed Rocks’ orders during the invasion of God Valley and stayed until the end. His later desire to create a world of strength was inspired by Rocks’ own dream.

1. Whitebeard (Edward Newgate)

Whitebeard was the world’s strongest man and one of only a handful of members from the crew who were loyal. Even when he was under Rocks D. Xebec, he showed camaraderie that most of the crew didn't have. He fought bravely during the God Valley Incident, standing firm beside his captain. Even against Imu, he still stood tall.

Whitebeard was the most loyal to Rocks in One Piece. He didn't agree with every part of Xebec's dream. But he respected his captain highly. He stayed until the very end.

Conclusion

The Rocks Pirates' story in One Piece is pure chaos. It's about strength. And betrayal. Each member followed Rocks D. Xebec for different reasons. Some wanted power. Others wanted fame. Some just had big ambitions.

Real loyalty? That was rare among them. Their downfall proved something big. Even the strongest crew in One Piece needed trust. They needed to stick together. Without those things? They couldn't survive.
