One Piece continues to prove Imu's relationship with the Davy clan was more sinister than anyone imagined

In One Piece Chapter 1163, all illusions of God Valley are taken away. A massacre that seemed simple morphed into something much more vile. The flashback reveals a centuries-long campaign of corruption.

Imu possesses the body of Saint Saturn at God Valley and transforms the survivors of the Davy clan into demonic forms, again using the same trick we see with Gunko at Elbaf. The highest ruler of the World Government is not simply performing executions to eliminate bloodlines. They are turning victims into instruments of terror against their families. This disturbing method demonstrates that the relationship between Imu and the Davy clan was more than a simple hatred.

It seemed like the Davy clan is potentially the descended Immortal bloodline with ties to the World Government, a theory many One Piece fans have debated for ages regarding the origins of this clan. The latest chapter confirmed their worst fears.

During the time of the Native Hunting Competition, Celestial Dragons and God's Knights were hunting innocent civilians and the Davy clan's remaining participants. Rocks D. Xebec tried to save his family members from his clan. Rocks made it distinct that anyone bearing the Davy name would face torture that would make hell seem tame.

Imu's Possession and Demonic Transformation in One Piece

Imu has Saint Saturn's beast form of awakening, shaped after the Ushi-oni demon from Japanese mythology. It is similar to the possession on the Elbaf arc. This power implies some kind of contract or agreement between Imu and its servitors.

As Imu reveals themselves from Saturn, and their Haki release is so strong that even Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp were shocked. The battlefield erupts into pure madness with it. The supreme ruler basically bends reality around them.

Imu turns members of the Davy clan into demons, like they did with the giant transformation on Elbaf. And that parallel between past and present is evidence enough that the strategy really is not different.

Rocks declares upon seeing Imu that they're facing "the world itself," suggesting Imu represents more than just a ruler. It is possibly the embodiment of the world order or even the inversion of the sea.

The Pattern of Immorality and Control

There is a distinction of considerable importance in One Piece. The Holy Knights can regenerate from the most brutal injuries. Rocks's attacks against Garling and the demonic army prevented regeneration, which implies that immortal beings can be killed even if they can heal.

Immortality allows their bodies to regenerate indefinitely, which we can see with the Five Elder Planets and God Knights. Perpetual youth, which prevents individuals from aging, seems to be an offshoot of the Ope Ope no Mi's ultimate ability.

The demonic transformations lead to questions about permanence. Once transformed, will these beings serve Imu forever? Or does the supreme ruler dispose of them once they have fulfilled their purpose? The uncertainty of these questions makes Imu's methods even more disturbing.

Final Thought

One Piece vividly illustrates the scourage of Imu's ties to the Davy clan. The supreme leader proffers a lifestyle of everlasting suffering, degradation, and the ability to weaponize people not just against others but even their own family members. The very thought of this presence is more ominous and horrific than any terrible weapon or physical prowess could ever explain.

The God Valley event suggested patterns that are still in play throughout One Piece's present chronology. Knowing what occurred with the Davy clan gives the reader context for Blackbeard's ambitions, Imu's continued intent to pursue those of the D clan, and the World Government's irrefutable indifference toward a specific bloodline.
