On Days of our Lives today, Monday, October 27, 2025, Maggie makes a deal with Xander and Philip, Gwen offers Leo an olive branch, and EJ gets startling family news.
What Happened on Days of our Lives

At the DiMera mansion, EJ gave Gwen a new marching order: “Make nice with Leo Stark.” When Gwen cracked that she’d rather befriend a “rabid porcupine,” EJ reminded his secret partner that they both stood to lose a great deal if Leo exposed the true goings-on in the lab. The Days of our Lives villain wanted Gwen to pretend to forgive Leo and to befriend him again.
Gwen believed Leo wouldn’t buy it since she’d let him know how much she still hated him. EJ invoked Gwen’s talent for deception, and Gwen didn’t argue with the assessment. Gwen warned EJ that she would not resort to lethal tactics. EJ coolly replied it wouldn’t come to that…as long as Gwen did her job.
At the hospital, Brady called Tate to firm up plans for Rachel’s trick-or-treating. After the call, he bumped into Cat, who was clad in cat ears for Halloween. Brady offered Cat an apology for Rachel’s outburst to Thomas. Cat told Brady neither he nor Rachel had anything to be sorry for, as her relationship with Chad was likely doomed from the start. Cat presented her own apology on behalf of Aaron because her brother's secrecy had ultimately hurt Tate.
Brady blamed the deception about the baby on Sophia. He asked if the DNA results for Aaron and Tesoro had come back yet, and Cat said the family was expecting the results later in the day. The talk turned to Marlena after Cat asked how her former boss was doing. Brady updated that Marlena was doing well, but she still felt guilty about inadvertently sending Cat to work for EJ.
Later, Cat met with her boss in EJ’s office. After some light banter about Cat’s Halloween décor, Cat thanked EJ for hiring Mark. EJ claimed he had done it because he knew all about the need for second chances. Cat spotted EJ’s copy of Wuthering Heights and shared that she was reading the classic as well. She jokingly suggested they start a “two-person book club,” and he said the book was providing his only “romance” – an observation to which Cat could relate.
Cat and EJ’s chat was disrupted by a phone call. EJ hung up and revealed the puzzling news he had received. His brother Tony had gone missing.
At The Spectator, Chad and Leo briefly discussed Theo’s appointment as CEO of DiMera Enterprises. Leo then filled his boss in on his scary encounter with EJ’s "fixer" Rita. Leo fretted over EJ’s reaction when he found out about the reporter’s snooping. “I’m not gonna end up at the bottom of the Salem River wearing cement heels,” Leo quipped. Chad reassured Leo that he’d talk to his brother and convince EJ that Leo posed no threat.
Chad dismissed Leo’s fears about EJ because he believed his brother wanted to cleanse his reputation since he was running the hospital. Besides, it wasn’t like EJ was “building a nuclear bomb,” Chad said. Leo mused that whatever EJ had in mind, it likely would have “life-changing impacts” for all of Salem.
When Chad brought up Tesoro, Leo lit up and gushed about the baby. He grew sad as he contemplated all the experiences Javi and he were sharing that Tesoro wouldn’t remember. The exchange prompted Chad to reflect on his own damaged relationship with his son. Leo tried to comfort him that things would work out.
As Leo showed Chad pictures of Tesoro, Gwen arrived under the pretense of seeing Leo…to both men’s surprise. Leo seemed hopeful but suspicious when he noted that Gwen had called him “Matty.” Gwen laid it on thick about Leo’s heroism in rescuing her and invited her former BFF out for a meal. Leo quirked a brow and asked if poison would be involved. But at Gwen’s insistence that she wanted to thank him for rescuing her, Leo cautiously agreed to the get-together.
Gwen took her leave, but not before taking a few parting shots at Jennifer and her “high horse” when she wished Chad farewell. Leo had second thoughts after Gwen departed. Chad encouraged him to go. He knew Leo missed Gwen and, more importantly, Leo could keep her close and discover if she had an ulterior motive.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Sarah thought back to her confrontation with Xander. While she ruminated, Philip entered the room and told Sarah he was sorry for what had happened. “You should be,” Sarah icily replied. Philip explained how he'd tested Xander by pretending to get choked, and Xander had passed the test. Sarah, in turn, reminded Philip how he had used the choking incident to assert Xander’s innocence in Philip’s beating.
To add insult to injury, Philip had then watched Sarah beg for Xander’s forgiveness for believing him guilty of a crime he had actually committed. Philip argued he was taking responsibility for his own actions because his deception had put the whole chain of events in motion. Sarah said Philip could make up for his mistakes by going to the police and confessing “everything.” Philip insisted he couldn’t do it. He denied Sarah’s allegation that he refused to come forward out of self-interest.
Philip claimed that sending Xander and himself to jail would put the final nail in Titan and thus upend the futures of Victoria, Maggie, Alex, and Brady. The entire family had invested their personal assets into saving the company. Philip pledged he would never again “abandon” his brother or his family. When he began to plead Xander’s case, Sarah harshly cut him off and said she was “done.” She didn’t love Xander anymore -- and he wouldn't be seeing Victoria anymore -- she added before storming off.
Later, Sarah went to work at the hospital. Brady, who was lounging in the waiting area, noted her distressed state and approached. Sarah quickly conceded she wasn’t doing well. The Days of our Lives heroine confided her latest break-up with Xander and chastised herself for believing that he could change.
Brady said Sarah deserved better. He wanted to take her on a mystery excursion to get her mind off Xander and cheer her up.
At the Titan offices, Xander found Maggie sitting behind his desk. He bitterly asked his mother-in-law if she was pleased, and Maggie said the developments brought her no joy. When Xander indicated Maggie was in his chair, Maggie bluntly responded, “Not anymore.” She informed Xander that he would be a CEO in name only going forward. Furthermore, Maggie would be running the company…with Philip.
Xander was outraged that Maggie was “in cahoots with” Philip: the man who had started the whole ordeal. Maggie attributed Philip’s behavior to “insecurities” and “mental illness,” which Philip had worked to address. Xander, on the other hand, resorted to deadly violence because “that’s who you are,” according to Maggie. She believed no amount of therapy could fix Xander. Hurt and angry that Maggie had deemed him “a lost cause,” Xander accused Maggie of never truly respecting him, noting that she outed him to Sarah.
Maggie refuted the claim and said she’d always seen the potential in Xander. But he was “out of chances.” If he refused to accept the terms of her deal, she’d devote her energy to ensuring he went to prison. The Days of our Lives anti-hero composed himself and gave his answer: “No deal!” When Maggie mentioned prison again, Xander reminded her that Philip would be going right alongside him and, in the process, Titan would implode.
Maggie vowed she would stop the worst from happening, but Xander didn’t think she would or could stop Victor’s legacy from being destroyed. He deemed it appropriate, given “the mess” Victor had left behind. “Shall we burn it all down?” Xander challenged Maggie. Philip arrived on the scene in the midst of the standoff and asked what was happening. Xander pondered aloud whether or not Philip knew about Maggie’s plans to send him to prison while running Titan with Philip.
Philip said he didn’t and that Xander wasn't going anywhere because he was the only one who could send his brother to prison. Maggie balked, and Philip elaborated that he wasn’t turning on Xander. He launched into a defense of his brother, which seemed to surprise and touch Xander.
Philip reasoned that if he were in the same position as Xander, he might resort to violence as well. But Xander had apologized, and Philip believed him. In addition, Philip believed Xander should stay in his “rightful position” as co-CEO. Philip then pitched Maggie her own speech about staying united as a family, albeit a “dysfunctional” family.
Despite his and Xander’s many screw-ups, Philip argued, with Maggie’s help, they could all make Titan better than ever. He proclaimed, “United we stand, divided we perish.” Maggie, after hearing Philip out, reluctantly acquiesced and agreed to continue working with both brothers. She warned she’d be a constant presence at the office and would be keeping an eye on Xander, though.
When Xander stepped outside, Maggie told Philip he was making a mistake. Philip countered that Xander had lost everything else. “He needs this, and we need him,” Philip affirmed. Meanwhile, outside the office, a woman approached and served Xander with divorce papers.
