Karate Kid: Legends cast and character guide: Who plays whom in the action sequel?

The upcoming action sequel Karate Kid: Legends has an ensemble of talented actors, including Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson and Shaunette Renée Wilson.

Helmed by Jonathan Entwistle, the film is the sixth in the Karate Kid film series. The storyline of the film unfolds in the aftermath of the events that took place in the Cobra Kai series. Here, we witness both of the iconic exponents of martial arts, Mr. Han as well as Daniel LaRusso.

The film explores the journey of Li Fong, who, under the tutelage of Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso, trains for the biggest karate competition. The film is set to be released on May 30, 2025.

1) Shaunette Renée Wilson as Ms. Morgan

Shaunette Renée Wilson essays Ms. Morgan in Karate Kid: Legends. Even though we do not know much about her character in the film yet, it is known that Ms. Morgan is a teacher of Li Fong in his school.

Apart from her role in this film, Shaunette Renée Wilson has previously starred in films and series including Black Panther (2018), The Resident (2018-2021), Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023), and The Luckiest Man in America (2024).

2) Joshua Jackson as Victor

Joshua Jackson portrays the role of Victor, who has a pizza place in New York and was once a boxing champion. Li Fong has a romantic relationship with Mia, Victor's daughter. However, Victor is debt-ridden and gets injured after being thrashed as he prepares for a boxing competition in order to pay off his debts. Li Fong intends to win the karate competition in order to help with Victor's medical bills.

Apart from his role in Karate Kid: Legends, Jackson has starred in films and series including Scream 2 (1997), Dawson's Creek (1998-2003), Cruel Intentions (1999), Fringe (2008-2013), The Affair (2014-2018), Dr. Death (2021), and Doctor Odyssey (2024-2025).

3) Ben Wang as Li Fong

Ben Wang plays the role of Li Fong in the film. Already an expert in kung fu, Li Fong is training to enter the biggest karate competition, driven mainly by his personal battles. He is a student of Mr. Han. In order to sharpen his fighting skills, he decides to be under the tutelage of Daniel LaRusso, too.

Other than Ben Wang's role in the film, the actor has previously worked in Sex Appeal (2022), Chang Can Dunk (2023), American Born Chinese (2023), Mean Girls (2024), etc. He also stars in the forthcoming film The Long Walk.

4) Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso

Ralph Macchio comes back in this iconic role of Daniel LaRusso in Karate Kid: Legends. When Mr. Han approaches LaRusso, he agrees to train Li Fong for the karate competition.

The actor has had a long association with the Karate Kid film franchise, as he is the OG Karate Kid since 1984. He has also starred in the same role in the popular series, Cobra Kai (2018-2025).

Apart from his role as Daniel LaRusso, Ralph Macchio has starred in Up the Academy (1980), The Outsiders (1983), Too Much Sun (1991), My Cousin Vinny (1992), Can't Be Heaven (1999), Ugly Betty (2008-2009), Hitchcock (2012), How I Met Your Mother (2013), and Lost Cat Corona (2015) etc.

5) Jackie Chan as Mr. Han

Veteran actor and martial artist Jackie Chan returns as Mr. Han in the Karate Kid film series. In this film, he trains Li Fong and then approaches Daniel LaRusso to teach him. Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso have had a close association with the OG master, Mr. Miyagi.

Apart from his role as Mr. Han in the Karate Kid films, Jackie Chan is widely known for his work in numerous hits including Big and Little Wong Tin Bar (1962), Enter The Dragon (1973), the Rush Hour films, the Shanghai film franchise (2000-2003), Rob-B-Hood (2006), The Forbidden Kingdom (2008), The Spy Next Door (2010), Shaolin (2011), CZ12 (2017), Kung Fu Yoga (2017), A Legend (2024), among many other films.
