YouTuber DJ Akademiks sat down with comedian Charleston White during a recent stream, where he discussed why rapper Lil Wayne, aka Weezy, did not perform at the No Limit vs Cash Money Versuz battle and called off last minute.

As seen in a clip from the stream posted on the X account, 'joebuddenclips/fanpage,' Akademiks told White:

“Cash Money wins, hands f*cking down if this happens. And all this was contracted.”

He added:

“People sent the money. Wayne was supposed to come out, cancelled the day off, the morning of. Also, remember this, at ComplexCon, YoungBoy was gonna come out to perform one song and then perform at the end.”

DJ Akademiks said Cash Money would have won if Lil Wayne and NBA YoungBoy had performed.

According to USA Today, the Cash Money vs No Limit battle was held in Las Vegas on October 25 at ComplexCon. Host of Nation of Podcation, O’Shea Barber, also shared his thoughts about the music battle in a video posted on the YouTube channel on October 27. He said:

“No Wayne, no Turk. Now, that’s what hurt Cash Money in my opinion without having Lil Wayne there. Lil Wayne is the star. Lil Wayne is Cash Money. We were sitting here, watching this.”

O’Shea also said he expected Wayne to show up and perform at least one song. Meanwhile, as reported by HipHop Crown Nation, the reason Wayne didn’t show up at the event was his prior commitments.

What did Terrance Gangsta Williams say about Lil Wayne’s absence?

Terrance Gangsta Williams, who is related to one of Cash Money’s founders, Ronald ‘Slim’ Williams, said in a YouTube video that what caught his attention was the absence of Wayne at the event. Williams said Wayne spoke to Swizz Beatz and even agreed to show up. He said Swizz was upset over the rapper’s absence, adding:

“Because Wayne was booked to go to the other party.”

He said Wayne was supposed to be at some club named “Dre.” According to Williams:

“If you really wanted to make it Wayne you could have made it but Wayne just like and what it makes me think is Wayne still got a problem with Birdman.”

Williams said it was possibly due to his issues with Birdman that he didn’t show up. He said there wasn’t any other reason that Wayne would have missed the event, adding:

“Because Weezy is still relevant today doing shows, still do stuff. People like his music. People love No Limit Music. People love Cash Money stuff. But with Weezy, it's like it's a different feeling cause people still holding Weezy to a certain standard and status. But I don't think there was a winner. I like the fact that they all got on stage together. So, that shows us that we got more to, you know, to see.”

He said that if Lil Wayne were there, more people would have leaned towards Cash Money. Williams added that it was his personal opinion, and he didn’t think that there was any winner.
