Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is coming to Peacock on November 7, 2025. This would be who missed it on the silver screen will finally be able to watch the historical period drama in the comfort of their homes. It was released on September 12, 2025, and received mostly positive reviews from critics globally.
The film's production budget was $50 million, and it grossed nearly $100 million at the ticket window. Peacock is also home to all six seasons of the television series and the two films released earlier.
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is written by Julian Fellowes, who has also co-produced it with Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge under Carnival Pictures. Its cast members include Hugh Bonneville (playing Robert Crawley), Laura Carmichael (Edith Pelham), Jim Carter (Charles Carson aka Charlie), Raquel Cassidy (Phyllis Baxter), Paul Copley (Albert Mason), Brendan Coyle (John Bates), and Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary Talbot).
The franchise was born out of the eponymous British historical drama series, which ran between 2010 and 2015 on ITV. It consists of six seasons and has 52 episodes, including five Christmas specials. Most of the seasons have received mostly positive feedback. Michael Engler directed a feature film version, which was released on September 13, 2019. The film's follow-up was A New Era, directed by Simon Curtis, who has also helmed the film in the franchise. Julian Fellowes, who created the series, has written all three films.
