The Housemaid cast and character guide: Who plays whom in the upcoming psychological thriller?

The upcoming psychological thriller, The Housemaid, has a star-studded cast including Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, and Brandon Sklenar in the lead.

Based on a novel by Freida McFadden, this film, directed by Paul Feig, follows Millie, a woman eager to start afresh. She takes a job as a housemaid in a wealthy household, only to soon uncover dark and unsettling secrets lurking within the family. Its official synopsis goes as follows:

Trying to escape her past, Millie accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina and Andrew Winchester. But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous—a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. Behind the Winchesters’ closed doors lies a world of shocking twists that will leave you guessing until the very end.

1) Michele Morrone as Enzo

Italian actor Michele Morrono essays the role of the family's groundskeeper, Enzo. He seems to be a person who is a witness to a lot of secrets of the Winchester household.

Apart from Morrono's work in this film, the actor is well known for his work in the 365 Days films (2020, 2022), Subservience (2024), Another Simple Favor (2025), to name a few.

2) Brandon Sklenar as Andrew Winchester

In the film, Brandon Sklenar portrays the role of Andrew Winchester. He is the husband of Nina.

As per the book, Andrew is revealed to be an abusive husband who torments his wife, Nina. Even in the trailer of the film, Sklenar's portrayal of Andrew gives the character a highly suspicious, diabolical vibe. In fact, he was not initially aware that Millie would be living with the family as well.

Brandon Sklenar, apart from his role in this film, is known for his work in Mapplethorpe (2018), 1923 (2022-2025), It Ends With Us (2024), Drop (2025), Green and Gold (2025), etc.

3) Amanda Seyfried as Nina Winchester

The Golden Globe-winning actor, Amanda Seyfried, plays the role of Nina Winchester. She is the wife of Andrew, and hires Millie to work as their housemaid and live with them.

Throughout the trailer of The Housemaid, glimpses of Seyfried’s character reveal a woman who masks her fears and secrets behind a warm, welcoming smile. We also see moments of emotional turmoil, hinting at a deeper, darker motive behind her decision to hire Millie. Her eyes seem to silently scream: “HELP!”

As per the book, to escape the abuse of Andrew, Nina hires Millie to annihilate him.

Amanda Seyfried is distinguished for her work in films and series, including Mean Girls (2004), Mamma Mia! (2008), Jennifer's Body (2009), Les Misérables (2012), Lovelace (2013), Mank (2020), The Dropout (2022), and The Crowded Room (2023), to name a few.

4) Sydney Sweeney as Millie Calloway

Sydney Sweeney plays the role of Millie, the housemaid who has been employed at the Winchesters' residence. Haunted by a troubling past, Millie is determined to start anew as a housemaid, until her path crosses with the Winchesters, setting the stage for a collision of lives and secrets.

As soon as she enters the household, she finds things around her to be suspicious and scary. There is even a moment in the trailer when Nina hands over a key to her room to make Millie feel safe.

Millie, too, seems to be someone holding secrets, as in a moment in the trailer, we see their facade drop as soon as she leaves their home.
