General Hospital Daily YAPP Recap, October 28: Why did Marty have to turn dark?

Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on General Hospital

General Hospital fans saw a whole new side of Martin Grey today and it was not a good look at all. While we know Marty can certainly be shady, we never actually saw him as being threatening and mean, but that's exactly how he acted with Ronnie today and it's a side of the character we don't need. During those few minutes in which a furious Marty told an old lady she would go to prison if she didn't sell Monica's house to that horrible Drew Cain, he turned Ronnie into a sympathetic character we just wanted to hug. While we are glad that Ronnie is indeed Monica's sister and didn't arrive in town to steal her house from its rightful new owner (we assume, Tracy), we were disappointed to learn her encounter with Tracy prompted her to go along with Marty's harebrained scheme. Now, we are rooting for her to team up with Tracy and take Marty down, Quartermaine style. Laura's brother used a woman's death to enact revenge on Tracy, which is pretty much as low as you can go. While we understand his ire toward Tracy after her stunt with his various ex-wives earlier this year, he's gone a little too far with his vengeance. Like most soap characters, Marty is redeemable. We just need to see that redemption soon to get one of our favorites out of the soap opera doghouse.
