Giovanni Mazza, Amanda Setton, Dominic Zamprogna: Big screen dreams: How you can see Giovanni Mazza when he’s not on General Hospital

With the introduction of Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) on General Hospital, fans were treated not only to a highly-talented first-time actor, but also an accomplished violinist at only age 19. He first appeared at Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) wedding and is now living at the Quartermaine mansion. He may or may not be related to the Cerulo or the Falconeri families, as his backstory hasn’t really been filled in yet. Some fans even speculate that he’s the son of Brook Lynn and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). As we await a future story that will fill us in on the truth, we can find Mazza appearing elsewhere.

He’s not fiddling around

While General Hospital’s Giovanni Mazza has played his violin on the show, in real life he regularly plays it at NBA games during halftime. Now, he’s got another project out and wrote on Instagram, “I’m excited to announce that the film I’m in SUNFISH is going to Sundance 2025 to compete in the U.S. Dramatic Category! I’m so honored and grateful to have worked with the amazing @sierra.falconer and everyone in the cast and crew of this beautiful feature film.”

Mazza enthusiastically added, “What a great experience to be a part of. Can’t wait for the World Premiere! It’s truly one of a kind. 🫶❤️. #Sundance @sundanceorg @sunfishthefilm.” According to IMDb, the film is, “An anthology following the residents of a small town and the lake that binds them together.” Mazza included in his post several photos of him and other castmembers on set at a lake, looking like they were having a great time.

His General Hospital co-star Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks) responded, “Hell yeahhhhhh,” to which Mazza replied with a few fire emojis. The director of Sunfish (& Other Stories on Green Lake), Sierra Falconer, also posted on Instagram, “Over the moon to share that my first feature film, Sunfish (& Other Stories on Green Lake), will premiere in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2025 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL !!! So much love and gratitude to all the friends and family I got to make this movie with.” She gave thanks to everyone involved in the production, and finished with, “Thank you to @sundanceorg for having us. This is a dream come true and then some. (My legs are sore from jumping with joy!!!).”
