The beloved indie pop project Japanese Breakfast is hitting the road in 2025 and is officially staying out longer. After a string of shows and recent festival appearances, the band has announced an extended leg of their tour to accompany their latest album, For Melancholy Brunettes (& Sad Women). The added dates include return stops in multiple cities, such as Los Angeles and San Diego, as well as new performances in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest.Alongside the 2025 tour expansion, Japanese Breakfast has also shared a new video for the track Winter in LA, which was reportedly shot in South Korea. The new phase of the tour follows Japanese Breakfast’s appearance at Coachella 2025, where fans were treated to a setlist that featured old favorites and relatively newer material, including a live cover of Gorillaz’s On Melancholy Hill. 'Nothing thicker than a knife's blade separates happiness from melancholy,' Virginia Woolfe writes. I wanted this album to capture the moments where that knife slips. When people want too much, when they cede to temptation, when they are seduced and punished."Complete list of dates and venues for Japanese Breakfast's 2025 tourAfter a spring and early summer tour across the U.S., Canada, and parts of Asia, Japanese Breakfast’s updated 2025 schedule now includes more West Coast and Pacific Northwest shows in late August and September 2025.These additions include performances in San Diego (Aug. 20, 2025), Los Angeles (Aug. 22, 2025), Santa Barbara (Aug. 23, 2025), and San Francisco (Aug. 27–28, 2025).
