Jerry Harrison extends 2025 'Stop Making Sense' tour: Presale, new dates, venues, and more explored

Talking Heads' Jerry Harrison is officially bringing the band's beloved concert film Stop Making Sense back to screens across North America.

Following some sold-out events earlier this year, Jerry Harrison has announced multiple new dates for his in-person screening tour. The newly extended leg will kick off in September 2025 and stretch into January 2026. It is set to hit several cities, including California, Texas, Florida, New England, the Pacific Northwest, and more.

Talking Heads keyboardist and guitarist Jerry Harrison will appear in person at every stop. He will introduce the film, share behind-the-scenes stories, and answer audience questions after the screening. The events have been timed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Stop Making Sense.

Jerry Harrison shared the tour extension announcement via an official Instagram post, which read:

"New Stop Making Sense Dates! Join me as I host screenings for Stop Making Sense all across the US. In addition to watching the concert film, I will be introducing the movie and answering questions from the audience. Tickets for newly added dates go on sale this Friday, August 1 at 10 am local time. Details & tickets at jerry-harrison.com"

The concert film is backed by a 4K restoration from A24 and a new Dolby Atmos mix. Its re-release also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Talking Heads.

Stop Making Sense was originally released in 1984. Directed by Jonathan Demme, it was filmed over three nights at Hollywood's Pantages Theatre. It captures the Talking Heads members: David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth, and Jerry Harrison.
