Nicki Minaj, in an early October 15 tweet, said that she will be canceling her forthcoming album, and allegedly blamed Jay-Z for the cancellation.

"Ok I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music. Hope you’re happy now @sc Bye, Barbz. Love you for life"

This comes after Minaj last month announced the release date for her sixth studio album and follow-up to 2023's Pink Friday 2. Minaj noted that she would be releasing the album on March 27, 2026. However, after her recent tweet, the future of her album remains unclear.

Despite Nicki's comments, netizens took to the tweet's comment section to express disbelief.

A user (@Bigcharly10) recalled that every time Minaj bids goodbye, she comes back with a new single,

"Every time she says bye, a new single appears"

Another user (@TheeMissKeisha) claimed that the rapper was "sleeptalking",

"Your sleep talking. See you soon in the a.m. #NM6 #PinkFriday2"

Another user (@BelovedBone) claimed that Nicki was never going to release the album,

"That album was never coming. It was all in attempt to distract from Cardi B's success 😂😂"

Another user (@YonceVocals) questioned the singer if she will be tweeting about Jay-Z "forever" after Minaj posted a tirade of tweets targeting the Roc Nation founder, and CEO Desiree Perez,

"Girl you gon be tweeting about Jay forever?"

Another user (@belcalismirror) claimed that Minaj has plans to release her album but wants her fandom to beg her for the release.

"Girl knowing damn well She gone out the album out she just wants the Barbz to beg her"

Nicki Minaj releases a tirade of tweets against Jay-Z

Nicki Minaj's abrupt announcement of her canceling the album release comes in her long-running feud with Roc Nation. In a string of posts, the rapper accused Jay-Z's label of coming "begging" to her for a tour and claimed that industry figures were trying to "stop (her) money".

"They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO. Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ."

She also tagged Jay-Z and Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez multiple times in her posts and alleged civil rights violations. Earlier in a since-deleted July 8 tweet, Nicki Minaj claimed that Jay-Z owed her $100-$200 million and that "it's only collecting more interest." The rapper's allegedly disputed money comes from Jay-Z's music-streaming app Tidal.
