Royel Otis expand 2025 Australian tour: New dates, venues, and more explored

Indie-pop duo Royel Otis have officially expanded their upcoming 2025 Australian tour. They have added second shows in Brisbane and Sydney due to reported overwhelming demand. The new dates follow sellouts of the original stops. This is going to be their biggest national tour to date.

The tour extension announcement arrives ahead of the release of their second album, Hickey. It is officially slated to be released on August 22, 2025, via OURNESS / Capitol Records. The 2025 Royel Otis tour has been titled meet me in the car. It will kick off in mid-October, with the new Brisbane and Sydney shows slotted for October 21 and 25, 2025, respectively.

Royel Otis took to their official Instagram handle to initially announce the Australian tour, captioning:

"Australia we have heard you loud and clear! we're bringing our 'meet me in the car' tour home this october. we can't wait to be back in Aus and dance with you 🩷 pre-order our new album 'hickey' for presale access. presale starts tomorrow, Thursday 10th July at 9 am local time."

Royel Otis was formed in 2019. The Sydney-based duo consists of Royel Maddell and Otis Pavlovic. Their debut album, Pratts & Pain, came out in 2024. That record earned them four ARIA Awards, including Best Group and Best Rock Album. Their viral covers of songs like The Cranberries' Linger and Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Murder on the Dancefloor helped grow their global audience.

Announcing their upcoming album's title, Hickey, Royel Otis stated:

"Love bites harder than any other emotion in the world."

The record includes singles like Moody and Car. The duo is expected to premiere more new tracks live during the upcoming Australian shows.

This leg of Royel Otis' tour is being presented by Frontier Touring. Notably, support acts for the Australian dates have not been officially announced yet. However, the band has confirmed bby and DANCER as openers for their North American leg. It remains to be seen whether either act will join them Down Under.
