Josh Homme, frontman of the American rock band Queens of the Stone Age, revealed in a July 30 interview with Consequence of Sound what health crisis he faced that led to the cancellation of the band’s 2024 concert tour.It can be recalled that in August 2024, Queens of the Stone Age abruptly ended all their concerts scheduled for the year. In a statement shared on X, the band wrote:“QOTSA regrets to announce the cancellation and/or postponement of all remaining 2024 shows. Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care through the remainder of the year.”They ended the statement by thanking their fans for their support.“Josh and the QOTSA family are so thankful for your support and the time we were able to spend together over the last year. Hope to see you all again in 2025.”In the interview with Consequence, Josh Homme spoke about the medical emergency he faced.“I performed in the Catacombs, and within about 20 hours, I was being sedated and put under. Then I spent the next seven months in bed. I had a lot of time to think, you know? I was told I was gonna spend 18 months, two years there, so I was not excited.”Josh Homme also shared that he was grateful for the experience because it allowed him and his band members to think deeper about the music they wanted to create.“I was in a very difficult physical spot, and I'm really thankful that I was, actually. I couldn't think about anything else but where we were. It's better that I was unwell because I think if I was well, we would've maybe been more 'California' about it and thought 'Man, it's so cool to be here...' And something about that kind of sucks.”More details about Josh Homme and Queens of the Stone Age's 2024 concertsIn mid-2024, Josh Homme and the other members of Queens of the Stone Age canceled several European shows due to Josh Homme's health issues.
