The new single is his first work since he returned from mandatory military service. In an exclusive interview with Davide K-Pop website on July 5, 2025, he stated: "“Better Than Me” is a fun song that reminds me of the boy bands of the early 2000s. I’ve always liked songs from that era so this track was fun to work on and I think it suits my vocal tone well. This song is about feeling confident so I hope it makes WENEE feel good and energised!"He also talked about the music video of the song, stating:"It’s always hard work to film music videos so “Better Than Me” was no exception. The weather was hot and it took a lot of energy filming the choreography scenes but I really enjoyed it. My favourite part is the scene when I’m sitting on the hood of the car while the sun is setting because I think it came out well visually."The singer also elaborated on how the song differs from his previous works:"I think “Better Than Me” is a song that shows my vocal color and style well. It’s an all English track so I focused on perfecting my vocals and pronunication."He later talked about going to tour in Europe:"Of course, I hope to be back in Europe soon! It’s been a few years since I’ve seen WENEE in Europe so I hope to go again soon. Thank you for coming to see me last time!"
