Days following Sean Diddy Combs' 50-month prison sentence, the rapper’s friend Charlucci Finney revealed to Daily Mail News that the rapper once woke up with a knife to his throat. According to Finney, his friend was only seconds away from being murdered in prison.

“He woke up with a knife to his throat. I don't know whether he fought him off or the guards came, I just know that it happened.”

While it is no longer news that Diddy almost lost his life in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, Finney added more details on what allegedly went down in the notoriously violent prison.

“If this guy had wanted to harm him, Sean would have been harmed. It would only take a second to cut his throat with a weapon and kill him.”

He added:

“It was probably a way to say: ‘Next time you ain't gonna be so lucky’. Everything is intimidation. But with Sean, it won't work. Sean is from Harlem.”

More details on Sean Diddy Combs’ brush with death

During Diddy’s sex trafficking and racketeering trial, Combs's attorneys warned on numerous occasions that the music mogul’s life had been threatened in prison. Brian Steel revealed that the rapper was attacked by an inmate holding a shiv – a makeshift knife or razor. According to the lawyer, the inmate whom prison guards later stopped was trying to build his prestige in prison, and apparently, killing Sean Diddy Combs would help achieve that.

Record producer Finney shared that Diddy has experienced numerous assaults in prison that he hasn't revealed because he doesn't want to worry his family.

“Sean has kept a lot of this stuff to himself because he doesn't want to worry his family. But if you're in jail and you've been charged with anything s**ual, it's not a good place to be.”

He added:

“The prisoners take it personal. They look at it like, it could have been my mom, my auntie, my daughter. They try to get what they call prison justice. And you have to understand, we are not talking about a regular person. We're talking about Diddy.”

Another of Combs' attorneys, Mark Geragos, also discussed the attack on the Bad Boy Record founder on Harvey’s 2 Angry Men podcast.

“It clearly is a thing. He did not want to make a big deal out of it; they had already tried to shank him once at the end of the sea. That was thwarted, and it happened in prison.”

He added:

“You and I can tick off how many times we are aware of somebody getting seriously injured or killed in prison, and so they are gonna have to keep him somewhere that they can keep an eye on him because he is a target.”
