The Chad Powers finale doesn't feel complete to its fans, and it seems like the show will be renewed for a season 2. Season 1 finale offered a game without a finish. The audience walked into Episode 6 expecting two major emotional payoffs: One was the big on-field moment for Chad, especially during the match against Georgia, and another was the consequences of his deception all this time.

However, none of this was answered in the finale, which premiered on October 28, 2025. The game never begins, and the credits roll off. All of this suggests that this has been a strategic choice and has been done intentionally. The season 1 finale has set up season 2, and keeping this in mind, season 2 must answer some burning questions to satisfy its viewers.

Here is the full list that Chad Powers' season 2 must address.

Glen Powell has already voiced enthusiasm for a season 2, and of course, the writer has structured the finale of season 1 to make season 2 possible. Chad's identity was intact. It was a strategy and not a storytelling failure. However, the show chose to set up for the next season rather than providing any kind of emotional closure in season 1 as well.

If Season 2 happens, the show will need to answer the questions it deliberately left hanging:

1. Will Russ Finally Face the Consequences of His Lies?

In season 1, Russ is portrayed as living a double life as Chad Powers to fulfill his career dreams. He literally gets his look transformed and reinvents himself as a different person with an ambiguous past. He is shown deceiving the team that inspired him, along with the people who love him.

The season 1 finale was supposed to show the consequences of this lie, but it didn't. Ricky, his former teammate and a close friend, gets to know about his reality but keeps it hidden. Therefore, season 2 might explore how long Russ could juggle with both personas before the world knows about it.

2. What Happens in the Georgia Game?

The most frustrating omission in the finale was the game with Georgia. The show was talking about the team and this particular match from 2 episodes, and when the showdown happened, it cut to black before the game kicked off.

Season 2 must tell its viewers what happened in the game, delivering the emotional and athletic payoff. It must have meant something for Chad, and Season 2 must reflect on it.

3. Can Russ and Ricky Rebuild Trust?

The relationship between Russ and Ricky was the emotional backbone of Season 1. However, Russ eventually breaks it, revealing his double life to her. Season 2 could explore the bond anew and dive into themes of forgiveness and identity. Will Ricky ever see Chad for real again, or is Russ meant to lose her after all of this?

4. What’s Next for Coach Hudson and the Catfish?

The Coach, Jake Hudson, experiences a heart attack, and Chad almost risks his identity to save him. In the hospital, Jake shares some heartfelt moments with his daughter, Ricky. This health scare makes him a dad first and a team coach later.

Season 2 could show how his new perspective on life has reshaped the team dynamic and how much longer “Chad Powers” can survive under a man now paying closer attention.

5. Who Is Chad Powers Without the Mask?

One thing the viewers are waiting to know is who Chad Powers is without the Mask. If Russ removes the cover, who is he? Therefore, the new season could also dig into this dialectic.

Doesn't he miss his old self? What commonalities do they share? Has he tried to keep the people close to him who were close to him then? What happens when the fake man starts to feel more real than the one underneath?

There hasn't been any official confirmation about Chad Powers Season 2, and if it doesn't return, it could legit feel like a story paused in between.
