"Trojan", the Gen V Season 2 finale, streamed on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The episode picks up with a flashback to the burning lab in 1967. It is here that we learn how Thomas Godolkin got his puppeteering powers. After that, the rest of the Gen V Season 2 finale is set in the present, picking up right where the seventh episode ended with the return of the real Godolkin.

The 47-minute episode mainly focuses on Godolkin trying to enact his plan of culling out the supes he deems useless by organizing a class. Meanwhile. Marie, Jordan, Emma, Annabeth, and Cate try to discourage the students from attending the session. The official log line for Gen V Season 2 Episode 8, Trojan reads:

"Hello {{FirstName}} {{LastName}}. You’ve been selected for the 10:30 AM session.** Please be on time. Once a session begins, students may not leave for any reason. Check in with Vance outside of the Advanced Seminar Room when you arrive. Gen V Season 2 Episode 8 recap:

Here are some of the major revelations in the Gen V Season 2 finale:

  • We learn more about Thomas Godolkin

As mentioned earlier, Gen V Season 2 Episode 8 reveals what happened to Godolkin in the lab in 1967 after he fell unconscious. He gains consciousness and injects himself with the first version of Compound V, dubbed V-One. As he does so, we see him being burned. But he manages to survive the fire in the laboratory. After that, the scene shifts to the present.

Doug Brightbill, the man who was puppeted by Godolkin until the closing minutes of the seventh episode, is being tended to his wounds at Polarity's home. While he did not feel any pain because of being controlled by Godolkin, Doug is feeling the pain in his bones because he is finally free from Thomas Godolkin's control. This is where we finally learn that he was a mere vessel for nearly 30 years as he became the evil scientist's puppet in 1996.

As Polarity drives Doug to a hospital, their car is ambushed by Black Noir, who fatally stabs Doug and abducts the magnetic-powered supe.

  • Godolkin begins his culling

Godolkin tells Sister Sage that he has a class, much to the chagrin of the super-intelligent member of The Seven. Godolkin culls the first batch of students, with very few survivors. When Sage tries to rein him in, Thomas reveals that he intends to control Marie. He wants to see if he can control one Project Odessa baby, and if he can do so, then he can control the other one, i.e., Homelander.

Sage is shocked by this revelation and tries to convince him to stick to their plan. This revelation means that Sister Sage's phase 2 plans remain hinted at in The Boys Season 4 finale, remain mysterious.

  • Godolkin almost gets what he wants

Marie walks into the room after Godolkin is done with the first batch. Marie tries to kill the evil scientist, only to have the tables turned on her. Now, he uses her as a puppet and has her speak what he is thinking. All seems lost, and that's when Polarity (helped by Sister Sage) walks in. Godolkin tries to control Marie, but it seems that she is too powerful. Thus, Marie finally kills the scientist, bringing an end to his short reign of terror.

After killing Godolkin, Polarity advises the gang to be on the run. Thus, Emma, Marie, a fully healed Cate (Marie heals her early in the episode), Jordan, Annabeth, and Sam are on a run where Marie asks how they are going to contact Stan Edgar.

  • The Boys Season 5 setup

As the gang is on the road, the street lights start flickering, setting up Starlight's return after her appearance in the Gen V Season 2 premiere. Even more surprisingly, the season 2 finale also brings back Jessie T. Usher's A-Train/Reggie Franklin, meaning the speedster is another resistance character who has managed to evade Homelander's capture.

The two welcome the Gen V gang to the resistance, meaning we are going to see them in The Boys Season 5 when it streams next year.

The entire Gen V Season 2 is currently streaming on Prime Video. Binge them all before The Boys Season 5 releases in 2026.
