"Genuinely proud of you": Dancing With The Stars' judge Derek Hough reacts to Andy Richter's captivating Wicked Night performance

Dancing With The Stars Season 34 Episode 6 aired on October 21, 2025. The theme for the latest episode of the dance competition was Wicked Night.

Along with the judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli, the episode also featured a special guest judge, Jon M. Chu. Judges shared their thoughts about the performers and their dancing skills.

One of the participants featured in the episode was Andy Richter with his dancing partner, Emma Slater. After witnessing their Jazz performance, one of the judges, Derek Hough, stated that he was proud of Andy.

Appreciating Andy's Wicked Night performance, Derek Hough mentioned:

"I'm genuinely proud of you. Seeing you embrace the experience so much brings joy to my heart."

Dancing With The Stars Season 34 Episode 6: Participants deliver stunning performances on the Wicked Night

The recently released Dancing With The Stars Season 34 Episode 6 featured the remaining participants with their choreographers.

This includes:

1. Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold,
2. Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy,
3. Robert Irwin and Witney Carson,
4. Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas,
5. Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach,
6. Andy Richter and Emma Slater,
7. Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten,
8. Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik,
9. Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov,
10. Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa.

Andy Richter and Emma Slater performed on One Short Day by Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, featuring Michael McCorry Rose. Their jazz performance received praise from the judges and the guest judge.

Dancing With The Stars' judge Carrie Ann Inaba stated that with great choreography. She also told Andy that he was the living proof that the art of dancing was for everyone.

"That was really good. You are living proof that the art of dancing is for everyone. It was great choreography and he didn't miss one step," said Carrie Ann Inaba.

Fellow judge Derek Hough noted that he was genuinely proud of Andy for his Wicked Night performance. Bruno said that even the great Oz himself couldn't have created a better illusion. He added that Andy was "actually" on time.

Jon M. Chu, the special guest judge for the episode, also appreciated Andy's performance. He noted that he would see how much dance had given Andy, from his eyes.

"I can see in your eyes right now how much dance has given you. Wicked is about being the underdog," said Jon M. Chu.

As for the scores, Andy Richter received a total of 27 out of 40:

• Carrie Ann Inaba: 7,
• Bruno Tonioli: 7,
• Jon M. Chu: 7,
• Derek Hough: 6.

Additional performances, including Whitney Leavitt, Jordan Chiles, Robert Irvin, Dylan Efron, and more, were also praised by the judges.
