Ava and Elliot also found a picture of Ava's recital from years ago in Roman's bag, which showed that Roman was keeping an eye on his family even while in hiding. Due to Arthur, we also know that Roman is alive, but we are yet to know why he went into hiding, and why he still can't come back. That makes it clear that this man has something to do with Roman going into hiding or knows something about it. In conversation with Deadline, showrunner Todd Harthan revealed who this bearded man might be and how he will affect the show going forward. As Harthan said:"Just that this is not just a foot soldier. He knows some things, and saw some things and I think it’s gonna be surprising when we catch up to this guy, how we find him, where we find him, and what he has to say. I think it’s gonna send us to some really interesting places, and the one thing I will tease—I can’t say who it is yet—but it’s also gonna take us into the world and orbit of a new character and really amazing piece of casting that we’re working on now that I think is just gonna be really exciting. So, he’s sort of our bridge to the next phase of this whole Roman thing."Thus, this bearded man is extremely important in the show's narrative and might just lead Morgan to Roman. Besides, he might also be the gateway to a bigger plotline we have yet to witness. As Harthan said, he will also be connecting us to a new character. But we won't know who the bearded man is or his exact role in the show until High Potential Season 2 returns after the winter break.High Potential Season 2 stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan Gillory, Daniel Sunjata as Adam Karadec, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev Özdil, Amirah J as Ava Gillory, Matthew Lamb as Elliot Radovic, Judy Reyes as Selena Soto, and Steve Howey as Nick Wagner, among others, in main roles.
