"I'm devastated": Dancing With The Stars' Elaine Hendrix shares emotional update on her injury and possible return to the show

Dancing With The Stars Season 34 Episode 7 aired on Tuesday and Elaine Hendrix was missing from the episode. Elaine suffered a rib injury during rehearsals with her dancing partner, Alan Bersten, and was later taken to the hospital.

Opening up about her injury, Elaine shared a video clip via Instagram on October 29, 2025, saying,

"Halloween is my favorite, and I’m devastated. I was beyond excited to share what we had worked so hard on, although you’ll see a version of it. With your support, I'll be back in the ballroom next week. I want nothing more,".

After Elaine Hendrix's inability to perform in the latest Dancing With The Stars Season 34 Episode 7, she posted a video clip on her Instagram. Sharing the latest update about her recent injury, Elaine talked about how she ended up there:

"So obviously I'm not in the ballroom. I injured my ribs during 'Defying Gravity,' and today they just seized up, and I couldn't move. They brought me to the hospital."

She further shared:

"The doctor had said that with a day or two of rest, I should be able to continue. And that's exactly what I want to do. I wanna dance. I wanna keep doing this."

Talking about Tuesday's episode, Dancing With The Stars' participant noted that Alan would be holding down the fort. She mentioned that he was awesome.

The recently aired DWTS episode featured Alan's solo performance. He and Elaine were judged based on their rehearsal performance.

"You get to see it in it's rehearsal form. And just know that I love you all. Thank you for the support," added Elaine in the video.

Elaine also mentioned that Lisa Ann Walter was with her in the hospital.
