What did James Gunn say about the Peacemaker Season 2 finale?

Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor cameo bridges Peacemaker and the DCU
Peacemaker's second season saw a major surprise in the form of a cameo by Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
Gunn confirmed that the scene was shot during filming for the upcoming Man of Tomorrow film.
He stated:
"Superman felt big and brash, while Peacemaker stays grounded and gritty"
This cameo could possibly set up Superman and Lex Luthor against Brainiac in the upcoming 2027 movie.
Earth-X twist adds depth and raises stakes
Episode 6 titled Ignorance Is Chris presented one of the most surprising season twists, Chris Smith is suddenly dropped into Earth-X, a N*zi-dominated alternate reality. The plot racks up the stakes for major characters, especially Adebayo, who finds himself facing immense danger as a person of color in a xenophobic world.
Aside from the shock value, the show also teases future DC Universe shows, including G.I. Robot's live-action premiere.
As Season 2 concludes, Gunn indicated that Peacemaker might not return for a third season. But, the show's characters are likely to appear in other DCU productions to keep things alive.
Gunn also stressed that the finale will give closure to some of the narrative hints at larger universe-spanning events, so viewers know what the key character decisions have cost. The episode will be both, a rich conclusion and a launching point for new journeys in the DC Universe.
