Will Trent Season 4: Cast, returning faces, and behind-the-scenes notes

Ramon Rodriguez returns as GBI Special Agent Will Trent. Erika Christensen is back as Angie Polaski. Iantha Richardson returns as Faith Mitchell, and Yul Vasquez's Sheriff Caleb Roussard (Will's biological father) might return as well.

After the shocking Season 3 finale, there is definitely uncertainty about the return of Sonja Sohn's Amada Wagner and Jake McLaughlin's Michael Ormewood. Deadline also notes that Kevin Daniels (Detc. Franklin Wilks) has been promoted to a series regular for Season 4.

Similar to Season 3, Ramon Rodriguez is expected to step behind the lens once again; he is slated to direct multiple episodes.

Where did we leave?

Season 3 closed on a violent and uncertain note. A domestic terrorism plot, a bioweapons attack, pushed GBI and Atlanta PD to the brink. The team stopped the wider catastrophe. But not without cost. Amanda Wagner was shot while saving a colleague. Her fate for now remains uncertain. Micahel Ormewood collapsed and faced a potential diagnosis tied to a brain tumor. When Angie found out she was pregnant, she decided to keep the child. On the other hand, Will got to know more about his family history and that Caleb is his biological father.

Questions Will Trent Season 4 must answer

Will Trent's Season 3 finale raised several questions that need to be addressed in Season 4. Firstly, personal arcs demand payoff. Amanda's recovery (or loss) will reshape the team's dynamics. Meanwhile, Ornewood's diagnosis, Angie's pregnancy, and Will's confrontation with family history might alter the dynamics and reframe alliances. Secondly, the city's vulnerability has been exposed, and threats could resurface. Can the GBI and Atlanta PD prevent such mass-level crimes again?

Writers need to balance whodunit momentum with human reckonings. Will Trent Season 4 will likely answer which character survives and which relationships mend. It will also press the series to expand beyond familiar beats to test whether Will and his colleagues can hold the city together while they heal from the fractures.

In the recently released teaser, Special Will Trent is shown playing tennis as he claims he is doing good, a ball hits his chest (so, maybe he is not doing so well, or is he). We then get a sneak peek into what looks like a montage of upcoming cases, and in short, it looks thrilling.
