The Witcher Season 4 is just a day away from its historic release on Netflix. Why historic? The upcoming season will mark the first outing of Liam Hemsworth as the titular character of Geralt of Rivia, after actor Henry Cavill's controversial exit after three seasons. While Cavill fans are still disappointed with this recasting, Netflix has already served us with several looks of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt.

To make the anticipation even sweeter, we have our first official clip from The Witcher Season 4, which features Hemsworth's Geralt in full action. The clip is shared by Redanian Intelligence on X and features The Hunger Games actor in full Geralt makeup and attire. As our titular protagonist cuts through a wave of soldiers, we also get a glimpse of Milva (Meng'er Zhang) and Zoltan Chivay (Danny Woodburn).

The Witcher Season 4 is slated for an October 30 release on Netflix and will continue Geralt's quest to find and rescue the Cintran princess Ciri, his destiny. Season 4 will also mark the return of Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla, Joey Batey as Jaskier and Laurence Fishburne as Regis.

More on this in our story.

Here's Liam Hemsworth in action for The Witcher Season 4

Liam Hemsworth certainly has some big shoes to fill and the actor is leaving no stone unturned. The clip shows Geralt in action as he cuts through a crowd with a sword. While the scene is hard to decipher, it looks like a scene from Book 3, where Geralt and Dandelion escape from the Nilfgaardian soldiers. After the life-altering events of the Season 3 finale, which separated Geralt and Ciri, the titular hero will return with shifting alliances and loyalty in The Witcher Season 4.

The upcoming season of the fantasy adventure series is unlike any other as it marks the show's first outing without its leading man, Henry Cavill. However, the recently released clip suggests that the upcoming season will continue to show Geralt in action. While Henry Cavill and The Witcher fans are naturally disappointed with this recasting, creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has assured the fans that the show will do justice to Andrzej Sapkowski's original work.

In an interview with Netflix Tudum, Schmidt Hissrich discussed Gerlat's mission for the upcoming season as:

“His side is Ciri and Yen, and he will do anything [for them]. He will get involved in anything he has to get into in order to make that happen. He begins to realize that he needs help to get Yennefer and Ciri back...So, we start to watch the Hanza build and start to see that there are some amazing emotional connections to come there as well.”

The building of the Hanza will directly lead to The Witcher fifth and final season.
