Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

We didn't think Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) were coming to Los Angeles to do some sightseeing. They knew Noah (Lucas Adams) was in the hospital, and they flew to the City of Angels to support Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case). But the two women truly did show up to support not only Nicholas, but also his ex-wife. Sharon hasn't been an official Newman for years, and she has lots of history (not all of it good) with the Newmans. It was a pleasant and lovely surprise to see Nikki and Victoria share genuine grace and heartfelt sympathy with Sharon. They noted that Sharon will always be family, as Sharon is Noah and Faith's (Reylynn Caster) mother. There was no mention of that time Sharon was not on meds, and she burned down the Newman Ranch. Our hearts warmed as Nikki literally embraced Sharon, as she's going through a horrific nightmare (again). People keep their guards up even in the worst of times. They're afraid to be vulnerable and show how they're feeling. However, Nikki and Vicki made sure that Sharon felt safe and respected on The Young and the Restless. Once Sharon knew she was among friends (actually, family), she was able to let her guard down. Sharon tearfully lamented that she and Nick were once again going through their worst nightmare. Kudos to all three actresses for playing characters who can put aside the past in times of crisis. Brava!
